Whether you’re from this lovely paradise town we like to call home, or if you’re visiting for a weekend, we can all agree that Santa Barbara is a perfect place to treat Mom. Between the picturesque hikes, beaches, wine trails, and delicious restaurants, there’s a little something for every unique mom this Mother’s Day. Take a look at our perfect Mother’s Day itinerary featuring our favorite spots and things to do in our hometown:
JUMP START THE DAY:
If your mom enjoys the outdoors and appreciates nature, we suggest a hike up to Inspiration Point. It’s easy to get to from downtown Santa Barbara, and not strenuous. The viewpoint at the top will make the perfect snap for your day with Mom!
After all that hiking, head back downtown to our bakery for some mouthwatering brunch or lunch. We serve fresh organic eggs, omelettes, and breakfast sandwiches until 2PM, and if you need your caffeine fix, don’t worry, we’ve got that, too! Freshly brewed lattes, cappuccinos, and iced coffees made with delectable Caffe Luxxe coffee beans are perfect for a pick-me-up!.
MOSEY ON OVER TO THE FUNK ZONE + PIER:
The Funk Zone is just a short walking distance to the beach and pier, so it’s a great spot to grab a tasty flight of wine at local wineries. Municipal Winemakers and Kunin Wine are a couple of our favorites, along with Deep Sea Winery, which is right on the pier. Talk about beautiful views!
RENT SOME BIKES:
The weather is getting a lot warmer, so why not rent some bikes? Cycling through East Beach is peaceful and the scenery is one for the books.
HEAD FOR AN AFTERNOON TEA:
To keep you going throughout the day, head back to our bakery for an afternoon tea and a slice of cake. You can even grab a few Mother’s Day sugar cookies and cupcakes to-go!
CAP OFF THE NIGHT WITH A FRESH DINNER:
For farmers market-fresh central coast cuisines that just scream “Santa Barbara,” our go-to’s are The Lark or Finch + Fork. Both are equally delicious with vibrant atmospheres and they do a fabulous job accommodating those on a gluten free diet!
Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms out there!
